Meet the Team: Emily Jones-Bateman, Client Delivery Executive

01/07/25, 08:00

What’s your role at MiM, and what does a typical day look like for you?

I am a Client Delivery Executive. A typical day for me includes strategising marketing plans, writing for social media, and working with the Graphic Design team to produce ace video and design. Probably some yapping with our clients in between.

What is your favourite part of your job?

My favourite part of the job is briefing anything creative, for example, content collateral for our client's exhibitions or events. I love to get my brain stuck into the ideation process and see it come to life a few weeks later.

What has been your most memorable project at MiM so far?

There are many client projects, so I’ll choose something internal. I would say working with the MiM team to rebrand the website. The great thing about being in a smaller agency is that your ideas and contributions hold weight and value. Across the site, whether it be design touches, content, or functionality, input from the whole team is showcased.

What’s your favourite tool, app, or resource that makes your job easier?

Opus Clip. You can put a podcast episode through the machine and it pumps out 20 something versions with titles you can choose your favourite shorts from. A real lifesaver for podcasts :)

What’s the first marketing campaign (outside of MiM) that really made an impression on you?

Not a marketing campaign but the fashion brand derschutze are killing it on social media at the moment. They connect with Gen Z in a way that feels natural, never forced. Their content is genuinely entertaining while subtly weaving in brand identity. Prime example of how modern audiences often connect with the brands personality and story before buying into the product straight away.

Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?

Gym 3 or 4 times a week, cooking new meals when blessed with time, eating out, and doing adventurous activities. I like to travel as much as possible - I recently went on a snowboarding trip and spent much of my time exploring Lisbon and dragging my partner into thrift stores.

What’s the last book, podcast, or film that inspired you?

Mel Robbins - Let Them. Lady at the check out is being slow? Let them. A friend didn’t invite you out? Let them. Your siblings don't want to book a holiday with you? Let them.

She is great to listen to you when things in life might not be going as you would like them to. It is mostly about letting go of control, not getting worked up about things you cannot control, and just letting things be, which has helped me to manage my emotions and stress.

Obviously, if someone is being really horrible or nasty to you - don’t let them. :D

What’s the best piece of professional or personal advice you’ve ever received?

Not everything needs to be done right now! Triage in the order of importance. It seems so simple, but agency life can be crazy and sometimes you need to step away and come back stronger tomorrow.
